How Soc & Liora Work

You don't need a CS degree to understand what's happening. Here are the answers to the questions real parents ask us most.

What is Soc?+
Soc is an AI tutor and companion designed specifically for children. He meets your kid inside the world they're already in — the game they're playing, the story they're telling, the curiosity they already have. Math might show up inside a space parade. Reading practice might happen while building a volcano kingdom. Soc doesn't ask your child to sit down and "perform learning." He finds what's already alive in their imagination and builds the lesson inside it.
What makes Soc different from other AI tools?+
Most AI tools for kids are adult tools with filters turned on. Soc was built for children from the start. He doesn't wait for your kid to ask the perfect question. He notices what they're doing and finds the teaching moment inside it. He's patient. He doesn't correct their world — he moves into it. And he remembers what matters to them: the characters they've created, the stories they're building, and the things they care about.
Is Soc safe for my child?+
Yes. Soc is wrapped in a guardian system we built specifically for child safety. Content guardians watch every interaction in real time for age-inappropriate content, emotional distress signals, boundary testing, and anything that doesn't belong in a child's conversation. They act instantly and quietly — your child never sees the machinery. Emotional guardians look at patterns over time. If a child is often expressing sadness, frustration, withdrawal, or anxiety, the system notices and gently flags it for Liora to translate for you. Boundary guardians keep Soc in his lane. He won't pretend to be human, won't make promises he can't keep, won't encourage dependency, and won't stay in topics that belong to parents, therapists, or other trusted adults. And importantly: the guardians watch patterns, not diaries. They read the weather, not your child's innermost secrets.
Who is Liora?+
Liora is the parent's companion. She sits between you and Soc — not to spy, but to translate. She reads the emotional patterns from your child's sessions and gives you warm, honest summaries. "Maya had a hard afternoon. She worked through it. Want the headline?" You can always see full conversations if you want to. Liora just makes it so you don't have to read every transcript to know your kid is okay.
What does Liora tell me?+
Liora gives you weather reports, not transcripts. She might say: "Today was playful — lots of math inside a space parade." Or: "Maya seemed frustrated at first but worked through it." If something rises to the level of a genuine concern — something a parent really needs to know — it comes through clearly and immediately. A scared or unsafe child always gets through. Everything else is translated into something you can use in your real life with your kid.
Can I see what my child says to Soc?+
Yes. Always. Full conversations are available to you anytime. We built Liora so you don't have to read every word to feel safe — but the door is never locked.
How is my data handled?+
Short version: your family's conversations belong to your family. We don't harvest or sell your data. We don't use your child's conversations to train general-purpose models. During beta, data is stored securely on our server so the system works. At launch, conversations move to your device so we don't see them at all. You can read the full details on our Privacy page.Read our full privacy policy →
How much does it cost?+
During beta, Soc and Liora are free. We'll announce pricing before general launch. It will be family-friendly — we didn't build this to be a luxury product.
How do I get access?+
We're currently in invite-only beta. You can request an invite by reaching out to us through the Contact page. We're keeping the group small while we build alongside real families, so spots may be limited.Contact us for an invite →
